After more than three months of closure, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are delighted that we are able to be open once again for public worship - all subject, of course, to regulations, guidance, laws, and social-distancing. Owing to the need to change how we do things at the moment, public worship will only take place on Sundays and solemnities and it will also be a lot more simple than we are used to - but it will be the Mass and that's the most important thing! To allow for social distancing, the pattern of Mass times will change a little: we will have a Vigil Mass at 5pm on Saturday and on Sundays a Mass at 10.15am and 11.30am, there will also be a children's Mass at 3pm on Sundays. You are, of course, always very welcome to join us here at the Abbey but please be aware that each of these services can accommodate a maximum of 33 people and, sadly, once we reach this number we will not be able to admit anyone else - the extra services, however, should mean that this isn't a likely problem.

We are also able, once again, to celebrate weddings and baptisms, and also to hold funerals in church but, again, these will all be subject to strict maximum numbers and social distancing. If you are interested in any of these services, please be in touch with the Vicar.

Welcome to the Abbey Church of St Mary the Virgin - a Church of England parish church in the Diocese of Coventry and the See of Ebbsfleet, serving the people of Abbey Green in Nuneaton. Here, in this beautiful place, we continue to worship Almighty God on the same holy ground and among the remains of the same buildings where the nuns who gave this town its name first gathered for worship nearly 900 years ago. However, though these walls are steeped in centuries of prayer and tell of a great history, it is the life of the Abbey Church today that is its greatest treasure - here you will find a thriving, loving, and growing community committed to living out and proclaiming the Good News of the Saving Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Whether you are already a practicing Christian, thinking of returning to Church, interested in exploring the Faith, or simply curious to discover a little more, you will always find a very warm welcome here - why not come and join us and be a part of the next chapter in the story of this wonderful church in the parish of Abbey Green.
